Jill Greene, Gary England and Jenny Oliver were at the party for Meteorologist Gary England. Hosts were Jenny and David Oliver, Kay and Gates Oliver and Chelin and Gregg Satherlie. : The invitations invited friends to celebrate the fact that England will enter the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in November. They were asked to wear “Gary attire” (sport coat, jeans and boots). On the RSVP card was “Please keep us advised and Yes, we will be taking our weather precautions and will be there, or No, we are too afraid and already in the basement.” (Photo by Helen Ford Wallace).
“Blue Loretta” was the blue rum drink served in special champagne glasses with “Oklahoma Hall of Fame” written on them. A huge ice sculpture featured a swirling tornado and sign that said “Clear Skies Ahead.” Décor/food: Hurricane lanterns decorated the tables and England’s favorite foods such as chili on the stove, tamales and fried chicken and gravy were served. Napkins in Doppler colors featured England’s favorite sayings such as “Three Dog Night, “ “Get Val on the Gentner,” “We’ll Keep You Advised,” “Jump Back Throw Me Down Loretta “ and “Stay Weather Aware.” The drink glasses said “It’s A Grinder,” “Get Below Ground Immediately,” and “We Lost Val.” (Photo by Helen Ford Wallace).
