From top celebrities to everyday folks, Oklahomans and Oklahoma stay in the entertainment headlines. Here's seven times they've made show business news over the past week or so:

Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine star in funny Super Bowl commercial

Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton, his pop-star fiancee Gwen Stefani and their former "The Voice" co-star Adam Levine appeared in one of the funnier commercials of Sunday night's Super Bowl LV.

In the spot touting the reliability of T-Mobile's 5G network, Gwen calls up Adam saying she is ready to start dating again. She explains, "I'm sick of L.A. guys. I want something completely different, maybe from another country, and someone cultured and sensitive, and who's not threatened by a strong, confident woman."

But on his shoddy network, Adam hears her say, "I'm sick of L.A. guys, I want someone completely country, uncultured, and threatened by a strong, confident woman."

Naturally, Adam is hanging out with his pal Blake and gets the notion to set up to the two seemingly mismatched music stars.

The commercial, which has a cute rom-com kind of finale, successfully riffs on the popular couple's unlikely romance. Shelton and Stefani announced their engagement last fall after five years of dating.

Their Super Bowl ad is trending in the top 10 on YouTube this morning.

Christian Kane action series 'Almost Paradise' streaming for free on IMDb TV

Oklahoma actor Christian Kane's latest action series "Almost Paradise" is streaming for free on IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming service.

After co-starring in the popular ensemble shows "Leverage" and "The Librarians," Kane, who was born in Dallas and grew up in Norman, takes the lead in the tropical crime drama series.

"You know me. You know the stuff that I've done: I've always been a superhero. Eliot (Spencer on 'Leverage') was a superhero. Jake Stone on 'The Librarians' actually went to Shangri-La and trained with the Monkey King, so he learned how to fight like a superhero. And then this guy is a superhero in his own right in the agency; he was one of the top DEA guys in the world ... and then that's what cripples him, is when he can't do it anymore," Kane told me in a 2020 interview.

"This is the genre that I love, and I'll tell you why: because this is the genre that I watch. Nothing against courtroom dramas; it's not my cup of tea. ... I would rather watch something like this."

"Almost Paradise" stars Kane as Alex Walker, who was the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's top undercover operative until his partner's betrayal and a life-threatening bout with hypertension forced him into early retirement. Looking for a more relaxed lifestyle, he buys a tiny gift shop on a pristine beach in the Philippines, but the island's luxury resort draws the rich and powerful, including high-end international criminals. Despite his plans for a less stressful existence, he finds himself fighting crime alongside a pair of local cops (Arthur Acuna and newcomer Samantha Richelle).

"Almost Paradise" reunites Kane with Dean Devlin, who previously produced the caper series "Leverage," which aired on TNT from 2008 to 2012, and "The Librarians," the fantasy-action show that ran on TNT from 2014 to 2018, under his Electric Entertainment shingle.

“We have established a wonderful relationship with Amazon’s IMDb TV. This marks our third partnership with the free streaming service -- the first being the re-imagining of the hit TV series “Leverage 2.0,” and secondly, the streaming of all three seasons of “The Outpost.” We can’t be more pleased with how our relationship is blossoming and look forward to more opportunities with the rapidly growing AVOD service," Devlin said in a statement.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NBC is honoring country music’s most famous show with its “Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music” television special, airing from 8 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton and fellow Grand Ole Opry member Brad Paisley will serve as co-hosts.

The anniversary special will feature performances by several Oklahoma country music stars, including Shelton, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood.

Also performing on the show will be Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown, Lady A, Little Big Town, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker and Marty Stuart.

In addition to original songs, the special features one-of-a-kind Opry member collaborations and covers including Ballerini singing “When You Say Nothing At All,” Bentley and Stuart’s duet of “Pancho & Lefty,” and Lady A’s rendition of “Forever and Ever, Amen.”  All performances were recorded at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music” also will feature archival footage, including interviews, performances, and appearances by many more of today’s Opry members and legendary artists.

The Opry has inspired and created major moments in a country music artist’s career for more than nine decades. This long-held tradition is carried on in the special, with two special moments featured. During Lady A’s performance taping for the special, Rucker, an Opry member, surprised the group with an invitation to join the hallowed institution. Brown’s performance in the special marks his official Opry debut.

Pentatonix croons 'The Lucky Ones,' from new album, on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Multiplatinum-selling vocal group Pentatonix - which includes former University of Oklahoma student Kirstin Maldonado - showed off their trademark tight harmonies with their new original a cappella ballad "The Lucky Ones" last week on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

The song is the title track from the three-time Grammy-winning group's new original album, which will be released Friday via RCA Records and is available for pre-order here.

The upcoming album marks the group’s first full-length original album since 2015, when their self-titled album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. The album has since been certified gold.

Reba releases streaming ballads collection 'Love Revival'

In time for Valentine's Day, Oklahoma native and Country Music Hall of Famer Reba McEntire has a new collection of her favorite love songs titled "Love Revival" available on all streaming services.

Along with the title track, the new collection includes "Forever Love," "Just a Little Love," She's Callin' It Love," "Till You Love Me" and "Sunday Kind of Love." The latter is particularly apt since Valentine's Day is, in fact, Sunday, in case you've forgotten.

"Love Revival" is available for streaming here.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's 'Shallow' cover available to stream

Country Music Hall of Famer and Oklahoma native Garth Brooks and his wife and fellow country music superstar Trisha Yearwood's striking cover of "Shallow" now is available to stream at

The couple's rendition of the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper hit "Shallow" from the movie "A Star Is Born" first electrified music fans last spring when they played "Inside Studio G: By Request," a live-stream acoustic concert on Facebook Live that led to two CBS live acoustic concert specials last year.

Their cover of "Shallow" also appears on Brooks' 12th studio album, "FUN." Brooks, who celebrated his 59th birthday on Sunday, released "FUN." and his live album "Triple Live Deluxe" on the same day last November.
