Is it time to replace your hairbrush?

There are plenty of products in my beauty arsenal that I replace often.

Hairbrush, not so often. If I’m being honest, it’s probably only when the bristles start to fall out.

Oh, sure, I regularly remove the loose hair that’s collected over a week or two. But I can’t remember the last time I washed it. Oops.

That’s a big OH NOion both counts, according to a magazine article in Real Simple.

One hairstylist says your hairbrush should be replaced between six months to a year, depending on how much hair product you use daily and washed at least at least once a month. Who knew a hairbrush could be a breeding ground for bacteria?

Clearly I’m not alone in this failure. The magazine says more than 50 percent of people can’t even remember the last time they replaced their hairbrush.
