Oklahoma State baseball: Cowboys set O'Brate Stadium opener for Feb. 23

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State is finally getting a chance to open O’Brate Stadium.

The Cowboys will host Little Rock in the first game in the new baseball stadium on Tuesday, Feb. 23, the university announced Monday.

No time for the first pitch has been set. OSU will announce ticket information at a later date.

OSU planned to open the stadium last March against TCU with former President George W. Bush set to throw the ceremonial first pitch. But the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the season.

O’Brate Stadium will host 33 games this spring, including nonconference games against powerhouse Vanderbilt (March 12-14), Illinois State, Missouri State, Grand Canyon, Central Arkansas, Oral Roberts and New Orleans.

The first Bedlam matchup will be a nonconference game in O’Brate Stadium on March 30. The opener of the Bedlam Series on April 30 will also be in Stillwater. OU will host a nonconference Bedlam on May 11 and the conference games on May 1-2.

The Cowboys will also host Big 12 rivals Kansas State, West Virginia, Texas and Baylor in weekend series.

OSU will also play Louisiana-Monroe at the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field on March 16.

A total of 22 Cowboys games will be streamed on ESPN+ this season.
