OSU football: Chuba Hubbard has 'chosen to go to the NFL'

WACO, Texas — Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard has decided to prepare himself for the NFL Draft, coach Mike Gundy announced before Saturday’s game at Baylor.

Hubbard had missed the last two games with an ankle injury that hampered him for more than a month before he was sidelined.

Asked about Hubbard’s availability during his appearance on the OSU pregame radio show, Gundy said Hubbard has “chosen to go to the NFL.”

The decision means the Cowboys will be without Hubbard for Saturday's game at Baylor and the bowl game later this month. Hubbard, a junior, had already made his intentions for next season known when he took part in senior day activities in Stillwater last month.

For the season, Hubbard has 625 rushing yards with an average of 4.7 yards per carry, and five touchdowns. Hubbard returned to a team with big goals after his sophomore season in which he rushed for 2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Hubbard is projected as a mid-round pick by most draft analysts.

The Cowboys will also be without receiver Tylan Wallace and cornerback Rodarius Williams on Saturday because of injuries.
