Oklahoma high school football recruiting: Putnam North's Jeff Nwankwo commits to Tulane
Jeff Nwankwo's patience paid off.
The senior wide receiver at Putnam North didn't play football until his senior year, but it didn't take long for colleges to quickly offer him. At 6-foot-6, his height and playmaking ability was something college coaches couldn't pass up.
As Nwankwo played in more games, his offer list continued growing. On Friday, he announced he was committing to Tulane.
Nwankwo also held offers from Army, Cornell, Eastern Michigan, Tulsa and Yale.
In 10 games this season, Nwankwo caught 21 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns. He was a big part of a Panthers team that went 8-3 and made it to the Class 6A-II quarterfinals.
