Three things to know
• OSU freshman phenom Cade Cunningham — the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week — is coming off a dominant closing performance in which he scored the Cowboys’ final 12 points in just 91 seconds during Tuesday’s 83-78 win over Oral Roberts. Cunningham is the only player in the country averaging 20.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
• The Cowboys’ nine-game winning streak that dates back to last season is the third longest streak in the nation. They’ve also won four straight games on the road, dating back to last season with wins at Iowa State and Texas to go with this season’s wins at Texas-Arlington and Marquette.
• OSU is 30-10 against Wichita State, including a 15-5 mark in Wichita. But the Shockers have won the last two matchups, including an 80-61 victory in Stillwater last season. Both teams have since undergone a roster upheaval. Each team returns five players who participated in the game and Wichita State is now coached by Isaac Brown, who replaced Greg Marshall on an interim basis after Marshall’s resignation last month. Wichita State has also dealt with COVID-19 positive tests and contact tracing to start the season, but could be at full strength Saturday.
