Oklahoma high school football recruiting: Heritage Hall's Melvin Swindle commits to South Dakota
Melvin Swindle has made his college decision.
The star offensive and defensive lineman for the Chargers announced Wednesday he was committing to South Dakota. He made the announcement on Twitter.
Swindle is No. 19 in The Oklahoman's Super 30 rankings for the state's best recruits. He also held offers from Iowa State, Memphis and Oklahoma State, among others.
Swindle's versatility is a large reason why he was so heavily recruited. At 6-foot-3, 303 pounds, he's able to play on either the offensive or defensive line and dominates at both.
He will join former Heritage Hall standout Will Dunn, a 2020 graduate, at South Dakota.
He has been a pivotal piece of Heritage Hall's success the past three seasons, and this year is no different. He will lead the Chargers (9-1) into their quarterfinal matchup against Verdigris at 7 p.m. Friday.
