Oklahoma high school football: Luke Orvis resigns at Edmond Memorial after 3 seasons
The Edmond Memorial football team will have a new head coach next season.
Luke Orvis resigned Friday after three seasons leading the Bulldogs, Edmond Public Schools athletic director Mike Nunley confirmed with The Oklahoman.
"Really appreciate Luke," Nunley said. "He's a true Bulldog. Fantastic person who truly loves Edmond Memorial."
The Bulldogs went 3-27 during Orvis' three-year tenure and were 0-10 this season. Memorial was scheduled to play Owasso in the first round of the Class 6A-I playoffs but was unable to play because of COVID.
Orvis came to Memorial after a two-year stint coaching in Colorado, replacing Justin Meredith. He spent 11 seasons as an assistant at Memorial.
The Bulldogs return some young talent next season looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
