Oklahoma high school football: Breaking down the Class C playoff bracket

The Class C football playoffs begin Friday across the state. Here is a breakdown of the bracket.

The favorite

Timberlake: The Tigers played up to Class B in its nondistrict schedule and swept through the slate of games. That tough start prepared them for Class C, and they easily ran through the district. The Tigers dynamic offense scored at least 48 points in each game.

Player to watch

Thomas Rompf, Sasakwa: Rompf has proven he can’t be stopped. After another stellar season, the Sasakwa running back has rushed for over 6,000 yards and 100 touchdowns in his career. If Sasakwa is going to make a deep playoff run, they’ll need him to be just as dominant as he’s been throughout his entire career.

Team to watch

Mt. View-Gotebo: Defense wins championships and the Tigers have one of the best in the state. Mt. View-Gotebo has only allowed just 5.1 points per game to complete an undefeated season. They try to use their stout defense to earn their first state championship.
