OSU men's basketball: Cade Cunningham's Cowboy debut to come in hometown

STILLWATER — Cade Cunningham’s Oklahoma State debut will come in his hometown of Arlington, Texas.

The Oklahoma State men’s basketball team will open its season at UT Arlington on Nov. 25, the Cowboys announced Wednesday.

Cunningham, the nation’s top recruit in the 2020 class, is originally from Bowie High School in Arlington, though he finished his prep career at Montverde Academy in Florida.

This is a change to the schedule, based on previous reports that Oklahoma State would open the season in a multi-team event at Nebraska on Nov. 25.

OSU is 11-1 all-time against UTA, and the Cowboys are 3-1 in road games in the series.

The game will be televised by the ESPN family of networks, though the specific network and tipoff time have not been announced.

UTA officials are planning to allow approximately 500 fans at each home basketball game this season, though protocol details are still being finalized by the athletic department and the Sun Belt Conference.

Information regarding ticket sales and attendance procedures for the game will be released in the coming weeks.
