IS IT TOO EARLY TO BE PLANNING FOR THANKSGIVING?
DEAR MELBA: Have you thought about having some cheese balls in the refrigerator ready to serve before or after Thanksgiving dinner? Try these.
CHEESE BALLS
•1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
•1 package (8 ounces) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
•3 tablespoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
•1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
•1/8 teaspoon salt, to taste
•1/4 cup pitted ripe olives, chopped
•2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
•1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
•Crackers
In medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and cheddar cheese. Blend in mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Stir in olives and onions. Cover and chill 3 hours or more.
When ready to serve, shape mixture into a ball and roll in chopped pecans to coat. Serve with crackers. Makes 10 to 12 servings.

DESPERATELY SEEKING RECIPES
DEAR MELBA: Some time ago, you printed a recipe for white cake frosting where either the flour or sugar was boiled with the water and then the other was added, along with vanilla flavoring. It made the best frosting I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, my recipe was so misplaced in a move that I have not been able to find it. Could you either email me a copy or print it again? Thank you. I want to use this on carrot cake for my son's birthday.

Hopefully, someone can find it. I couldn't.

DEAR MELBA: Please ask if anyone has a good recipe for Potato Salad.
Thanks.
