Report: OKC Thunder assistant Maurice Cheeks to join Billy Donovan's Chicago Bulls staff
Longtime Thunder assistant Maurice Cheeks will join Billy Donovan's Chicago Bulls staff, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Monday.
It's an expected move for Cheeks, who grew up a Bulls fan in Chicago and spent the last five seasons with Donovan in Oklahoma City.
Cheeks, 64, served two stints with the Thunder. He was on Scott Brooks' staff from 2009-13 before returning to the organization in 2015 after a brief tenure as head coach of the Pistons.
Donovan, who parted ways with the Thunder in September, is in the process of hiring a new staff in Chicago.
