Scouting Kansas State
Record: 4-2 (4-1 Big 12)
Best player: Junior Wyatt Hubert is a powerful defensive end with the ability to get to the quarterback. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Topeka, Kansas, native is second on the team with three sacks and has a team-best five quarterback hurries this season.
The case for the Wildcats: Spencer Sanders has revealed the Cowboys’ biggest weakness with his turnover struggles against Texas, and Kansas State has the defense to pressure him. Keeping Sanders uncomfortable, and forcing him into potential turnover situations will be key for the Wildcats.
The case for the Cowboys: Sanders should be on high alert in terms of ball security, and otherwise, the Pokes are coming off a solid performance. Sanders threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns, both career highs. The defense was strong once again, allowing only one Texas touchdown drive of more than 25 yards.
