Jason Wu launching beauty brand at Target
Well-known fashion designer Jason Wu is jumping into the beauty game.
His new namesake beauty brand will debut Jan. 17 at 400 Target stores, target.com and jasonwubeauty.com, WWD reported.
Wu joined with Toni Ko, NYX Cosmetics founder and her Bespoke Brand Brands incubator program, on Jason Wu Beauty which will include 25 products at prices from $10 to $25. The products are cruelty free and meet the Target Clean standards.
Wu first teamed with Target in 2011 for a limited-edition fashion collection. Instead of dressing the body, this time around he’s offering products to play up eyes, lips, cheeks and brows.
A favorite in the line for both Wu and Ko is the Honey Fluff “fluffy” matte lipstick available in various nude shades. The lipstick and all the products embrace the more natural side of beauty.
“We’ve been seeing a lot of heavy makeup in the last few years as a trend,” Wu told WWD. “The Jason Wu brand has really embraced the more natural side of beauty — the product looks good on every skin tone and is letting that natural beauty shine through versus covering it up. We really feel like that’s the next big thing, not an overly contoured look.”
