Oklahoma high school football: Noble defense shines in win over Southeast

The Noble football team had on Friday night one of its best defensive performances in recent memory.

The Bears finished with seven interceptions, including six in the first half, as they rolled to a 54-7 home win against Southeast.

“It was one of those games,” Noble coach Greg George said. “Everything kind of clicked for us.”

The Bears (3-5, 2-3 District 5A-1) had several players who shined against Southeast (3-4, 1-3), including junior Trevor Lorenz. He caught a touchdown and returned an interception and a punt for scores.

Although Noble has struggled this year, it has won two of three games and is clicking at the right time.

“We’re just happy we’re playing,” George said. “We’ll play as many games as we can get in, and we’ll see where the chips fall.”

Noble will host Ardmore (2-2, 1-2) on Friday.
