Joe Milam is going as one of the "Mumsters" on Halloween: Seven years or so ago, he wanted a castle, so he had one built, and then he didn't want it, so he's selling it at auction Oct. 31 — and that's about all he has to say about that.

Call it "castle-like" Old English-Tudor style. It has 9,848 square feet of space across three stories — no moat but a pool and other water features, all kinds of amenities, and a man cave as big as a manse — all on 5 acres at 6424 SW 104, according to the listing on Realtor.com. The list price is $3,999,000.

Jennie Heal, president of Supreme Auctions, said Milam intends to remain mum with the media, although he did provide her with some comments.

Milam, born in 1961, hails from Ardmore, graduated from Moore High School, and studied accounting and business management at Oklahoma City Community College, according to his Facebook page. He is a business entrepreneur — and he must be successful at it because castles don't come cheap.

His is liable to fetch a small fortune.

"Beyond the ordinary, Milam Castle 'tis a one-of-a-kind luxury manor house in a class all by itself on five acres in southwest Oklahoma City," Heal said in a news release and Phoenix-based Supreme Auctions' website. "Combining unparalleled, top-of-the-line, high-tech features, and warm indulgences with the ultimate 'Man Cave' to accommodate the finest car collection, this estate has just the right fusion for a truly unmatched destination to live, work and play."

Heal said Supreme Auctions, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, will offer the "Milam Castle" through a no-reserve auction in cooperation with Angela Parker and Janice Judisch, of Keller Williams Realty Mulinix in Norman.

The home was built in four phases from May 2013 to October 2015, with the family living in the first phase as work proceeded.

“Our castle represents years of hard work that allowed us to build it as we wanted to and not worry about cost," Milam said in a news release and on the Supreme Auctions website. "We tried to think of everything that would fit a large family and succeeded in the perfect house with its own unique style.

"I can't even tell you what I love the most about this house, there are too many things to list. The large garage that you can pull into and then completely turn around is great. The main living room that holds all of our large family at Christmas with room to ride any toys or gifts. We have also been able to open up our home for many different guests that truly appreciated what it has to offer.”

Heal said the Milams have held "some incredible family events, including high school proms, church gatherings, charity affairs, and weddings in which an entire family and guests came from India to share their vows at this magical property.”

Heal had some more details. The home has three bedrooms, an open-concept kitchen, formal living room, safe room, a 4,500-square-foot hall with a stage and oversize fireplace, guest quarters with kitchen and living room, office space and a large flex room for fitness use, a game room or media center. The grounds feature two pergolas, a sports pool with spa, water slide and splash pad.

“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime property,” Parker said. “I mean, who wouldn’t want a castle in the middle of OKC? Add to that the impressive, fully insulated, heated and air-conditioned garage that easily fits at least 10-plus vehicles, with its own Irish pub, entertainment, and soda fountain that is a collector's dream come true — you simply can’t go wrong with this home.”

For details on the auction and to preview the property, call 866-929-2243 or go to SupremeAuctions.com. Open house, by appointment only, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
