Oklahoma country singer-songwriter Jeremy Castle imagines 'If 2020 Was a Country Song'

Oklahoma country singer-songwriter Jeremy Castle imagines "If 2020 Was a Country Song" in a relatable new tune.

Naturally, this year would be "the kind that done me wrong." It'd be like a "girl who can't be true." It'd "break my heart and leave me blue when I was feeling fine."

"How can a year be such a pain? Driving everyone insane," the Oklahoma City native croons a cappella on the song, which he posted earlier this month on his YouTube channel.

"2020, you can go away. No one will mind if you don't stay. Bring us some hope for a better day, and leave us all at ease."

Castle, who grew up in Blanchard, started playing guitar in high school and has been writing and performing music since attended college at East Central University in Ada. His toe-tapper "You Ain't Met My Girl" has earned more than 6.6 million views on YouTube since he posted it in 2007.

The father of five frequently writes and records country songs and calls music his favorite thing to do. You can check out his music on his YouTube channel and follow him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

This post is part of Oklahoma Music Week here on BAM's Blog, a look at how Oklahoma musicians have been been handling the pandemic and some of the projects they've been working over the past few months. Please follow along and support local musicians and venues in whatever way you can.
