OSU football: A look at the Cowboys' 16-7 win over Tulsa by the numbers
Oklahoma State’s football season got off to a mixed start. The offense struggled. The defense shined. But the Cowboys still beat Tulsa 16-7. Here are some of the key numbers from the game:
0-11: Tulsa failed to convert a third down on a dozen tries. The Golden Hurricane were also 1 for 4 on fourth down.
93: OSU star Chuba Hubbard finished the day with 93 yards on 27 carries. It was the first time Hubbard did not reach 100 rushing yards in more than a year. On Sept. 7, 2019, he rushed for just 44 yards against McNeese State. Hubbard had rushed for 100 or more yards in 11 straight games, the longest streak in the nation.
34: The amount of yards OSU’s Dillon Stoner had on a punt return in the second quarter. It’s the longest of his career.
6: Tulsa finished the game with six total sacks, nearly half of its total from last season. The Golden Hurricane finished 2019 with 14 sacks.
14,668: According to the Tulsa World, the announced attendance inside Boone Pickens Stadium was the lowest since Nov. 25, 1967, when OSU defeated Kansas State 49-14 in front of just 12,500 fans.
