Oklahoma high school football: Nate Rouse scores 2 TDs, Crossings Christian shuts out Casady

The Crossings Christian football team has faced plenty of adversity in the past two weeks.

Its Week 2 game against Oklahoma Christian School was canceled, and the Knights were unable to reschedule. In Week 3, their first matchup against Casady, senior quarterback Owen Crotts went down with an injury, forcing a freshman into action.

That freshman, Nate Rouse, rushed 17 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns to lead Crossings Christian to a 20-0 victory against Casady on Friday. He also completed 5-of-7 passes.

"It has been a crazy couple weeks," Crossings Christian coach Jonathan Keathly said. "It stinks that we weren't able to play last week, but we just started preparing for Casady on Friday, so it's nice to get our first win."

Keathly was happy with how Rouse came in and played, especially his ability to run the ball.

Crossings Christian will begin its first season in Class 2A starting district play against Chandler (2-1) on Friday.
