Oklahoma high school volleyball: Edmond North wins Heather Harkness Invitational
EDMOND – Edmond North's volleyball team had its best weekend of the season at the Heather Harkness Tournament.
The Huskies, the defending Class 6A state champions, went 4-1 and captured the tournament title Saturday. 11th-ranked Edmond North (11-7) beat No. 2 Jenks, No. 5 Edmond Memorial and No. 7 Deer Creek en route to the tournament title.
North's only loss came against No. 1 Edmond Santa Fe, 2-1. Senior Aubrey Cramer was named Most Valuable Player while Julianne Li and Elaina Murray were both named to the All-Tournament team.
The tournament's format was different than in previous years because Tulsa Union's team had to withdraw late because it had to quarantine, so the seven remaining teams played a round robin against each other and didn't split into bracket play on Saturday.
Santa Fe finished second with Madison Edwards and Allison Pope making All-Tournament team, while Deer Creek came in third. Cami Turner and Jenna Houk made the All-Tournament team for the Antlers.
