The Academy of Country Music announced today the winners in three categories for the 55th Annual ACM Awards.

As previously reported, the 55th Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Keith Urban, will air live from Nashville from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday on the CBS Television Network. The show will be available to stream on demand and on CBS All Access.

Miranda Lambert, a former Tishomingo resident, is the winner of the Music Event of the Year category for her all-star cover of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” featuring Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack and Elle King.

“Fooled Around and Fell in Love" is the signature hit of Oklahoma Music Hall of Famer Elvin Bishop, who grew up in Tulsa.

Thomas Rhett has been named the winner of the Video of the Year category for his clip to his ballad "Remember You Young."

Hillary Lindsey has been named the Songwriter of the Year.

The Academy of Country Music announced last month that Riley Green has been named the New Male Artist of the Year, and Tenille Townes has earned the New Female Artist of the Year title.

As previously announced, the ACM Awards normally take place in the spring in Las Vegas, but have been shifted to a fall date in Music City due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Also as previously reported, the 55th ACM Awards will feature performances by Lambert with her "Bluebird" co-writers, Oklahoma native Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby; Checotah native Carrie Underwood; former Owasso resident Trisha Yearwood; Ada native Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani; Urban with Pink; Taylor Swift; Jimmie Allen; Kelsea Ballerini; Gabby Barrett; Kane Brown; Luke Bryan; Eric Church; Luke Combs; Dan + Shay; Florida Georgia Line; Riley Green; Tim McGraw; Maren Morris; Old Dominion; and Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Townes and Morgan Wallen.

Also as previously reported, Lambert, Underwood, Shelton, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn and Maddie & Tae are among the stars with Oklahoma ties who were announced back in February as nominees for the 2020 ACM Awards.

For the first time in the show’s history, the ACM Awards will be centered in Nashville. The show will be broadcasting live from three iconic country music venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, the historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.
