Oklahoma high school football: Dejuan Moore shines in Anthony Robinson's first win as Star Spencer head coach

As Douglass looked to score in the red zone, Star Spencer’s Dejuan Moore decided to make a play.

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound senior defensive back, noticed a streaking receiver turn to run a corner route towards the end zone. In an instant, Moore jumped the route and intercepted the pass. He ran it 95 yards for the score.

With his efforts, Star Spencer earned a 28-12 road win over Douglass on Friday night.

Although Moore is known for his explosive offensive plays, such as the 50-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Cecil Jackson in the second quarter, it was his defensive plays that helped seal the win.

Moore finished with two interceptions, half of the Bobcats' four forced turnovers as the defense also nabbed two fumble recoveries. The defensive play sparked some praise from Star Spencer coach Anthony Robinson.

“Defense played a good half,” Robinson said. “If we can put a whole game together we’ll be OK. They did a pretty good job, but they can do better.”

Even though it was his first win as the Star Spencer head coach, Robinson was not impressed with the way his team performed. Instead, he preached how they’ll need to improve their discipline and conditioning if they're going to play at their best.

“I’ll take the win but we looked bad,” Robinson said. “Discipline and conditioning is a top priority of mine after that first game. We’re nowhere close to where we need to be.”
