The Oklahoman's Athletes of the Week for Aug. 24-Sept. 2:
Boys cross country
Maverick Stephenson, Community Christian School: The senior won the Class 4A-2A race at the Mustang Harrier Invitational over the weekend. Stephenson finished the 5-kilometer race in 16 minutes, 47.35 seconds, just ahead of his teammate, sophomore Kenneth Weber (16:49.78). CCS placed first in the team standings.
Girls cross country
Jade Robinson, Norman North: She placed second at the Class 6A-5A race at the Mustang Harrier Invitational last weekend. Robinson, a senior, completed the race with a time of 19:55.90 and helped Norman North place second in the team standings.
Emma Curry, Washington: The senior third baseman helped lead Washington to its seventh straight win last week. Curry was a force at the plate. She batted 9-of-15 (.600) with one home run, six doubles and 10 RBIs.
Dylan Sokolosky, McGuinness: The senior captain and setter had a strong week helping the Fighting Irish go 3-0, including a victory against Class 4A No. 1 Christian Heritage Academy. She's averaging 27 assists per match this season.
