Garden party set for Will Rogers Gardens in Oklahoma City

The Friends of Will Rogers Gardens Foundation will present the Garden Party With Friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 at Will Rogers Gardens, 3400 NW 36, free to the public and all outdoors.

The Color Gardens will be the central spot for the party. People are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy strolling minstrels, Casey & Minna, and a live performance of The Teddy Bears’ Picnic by the Oklahoma Children’s Theatre.

The Garden Party With Friends will feature music, kid- and family-friendly activities, food trucks and more. There will be a silent auction of original artworks and garden-themed items to raise money for the Friends Foundation.

Okies for Monarchs, Oklahoma City's water conservation program Squeeze Every Drop and other area organizations will be on hand with educational materials. Food trucks scheduled for the event include: Taco Plant, Kinfolkz BBQ, Donut Man and Junction Coffee. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

The Garden Party also will highlight a membership drive for those who would like to become one of the Friends of Will Rogers Gardens. Membership costs $25 per year for a basic membership and $50 for a sustaining level. Memberships of those who join the Friends at the Garden Party will be good through all of 2021. The first 100 participants who join at the Garden Party will receive a free goodie bag of gifts.

The Mission of the Friends of Will Rogers Gardens Foundation is to offer financial support for beautification, education and preservation projects at Will Rogers Gardens.
