Oklahoma high school football: Jones cruises to 31-7 victory against Bethany

The Jones football team had a smooth season-opening victory on Friday night. 

The Class 2A No. 2-ranked Longhorns earned a 31-7 road win against Bethany. 

Junior quarterback Carson May led Jones’ offense, completing 18 of 28 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder also had 13 carries for 100 yards and a score against the Class 4A No. 15 Bronchos. 

“He was really balanced,” Jones coach Dave Martin said. “Did a lot of great things with his arm and also with his legs.” 

Senior Elijah Reed and junior Cadyn Karl each had seven catches for Jones. Reed finished with 44 yards, and Karl had 86 yards and two touchdowns.
