OU basketball: Sooners add reclassified guard Josh O'Garro to 2020 class

NORMAN — OU added 6-5 guard Josh O'Garro to its roster Monday after O'Garro began classes at the school.

The four-star prospect, according to 247sports, recently reclassified to the 2020 class from 2021. He committed to the Sooners in early August.

"He's an explosive athlete who will come in with the expectation of redshirting, working hard to get bigger and stronger," Sooners coach Lon Kruger said in a release. "We're really looking forward to him joining our program."

O'Garro is a native of George Town, Cayman Islands who was at Santa Clarita (California) Christian High School.

He averaged 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.4 steals last season and was a first-team All-State player in California's Division 2.

O'Garro is the second player in the 2020 class for the Sooners, joining Tulsa Booker T. Washington's Trey Phipps. The Sooners also added transfer guards Umoja Gibson and Elijah Harkless in the offseason.
