Early goals lift Sporting Kansas City II over Energy FC
Sporting Kansas City II scored two early goals on Saturday to propel themselves to a 3-0 win over Energy FC.
Kansas City’s Wilson Harris scored the first two goals of the match, one just five minutes in and the other in the 22nd minute. KC’s Daniel Barbir, tacked on the final goal in the 66th minute off an assist from Fredlin Mompremier.
Oklahoma City shot an even 6-6 with Kansas City, but finished with only two shots on goal. Energy FC fell to 1-6-3 with the loss.
The Green's were still without head coach John Pascarella, who tested positive for COVID earlier in the week. Goalkeepers coach Alexis Vizarelis stepped in to coach against San Antonio and Kansas City.
Pascarella will be able to return in Energy FC's next match against the Austin Bold on Aug. 30 with a negative test.
