High school girls basketball: OCA hires former Bishop McGuinness assistant boys coach Brandon Collins as head coach

Oklahoma Christian Academy has made a new hire.

OCA athletic director Grey Powell announced on Monday former Bishop McGuinness assistant boys basketball coach, Brandon Collins, will be the Eagles new head girls basketball coach.

“Coach Collins has a wealth of experience as a high school coach,” Powell said in a release. “We are excited to have him here at OCA.”

Collins has served as the Director of the Josh Richardson Youth Basketball Camps, coached with Buddy Buckets and has been a Club Team and Court Coach with Solid Rock Basketball. He’s also coached at Edmond Santa Fe High School and Deer Creek Middle School.

“I have known Coach Collins since early high school,” Philadelphia 76ers forward and former Santa Fe Wolf, Josh Richardson said in a release. “So I’ve seen how much he cares for the game, his players and the amount of work that he has put into his craft. He’s very knowledgeable about the game and OCA got the perfect man for the job.”

Collins will succeed Mike Sons who led the Eagles to a 15-13 record in Class 2A last season.
