OU football: Three-star CB Damond Harmon commits to Sooners
NORMAN — OU's run of recruiting success among defensive backs continued Saturday when Damond Harmon, a three-star cornerback from Highland Springs, Virginia, announced his commitment to the Sooners on Saturday.
Harmon is the third 2021 defensive back commit for the Sooners in the last month, joining a pair of Texas products, Caleb Johnson and Latrell McCutchin.
Harmon chose the Sooners over a group of finalists that included Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee and South Carolina.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Harmon is a versatile defender that can also play safety.
The Sooners hope Harmon's commitment will help them secure another highly sought-after 2021 recruit. Four-star defensive tackle Kelvin Gilliam, Harmon's high school teammate, is expected to announce his decision Aug. 22.
Harmon is the 13th commitment of the class for the Sooners, who are ranked No. 15 in Rivals' team recruiting rankings for the class.
