OU football: Creed Humphrey, Adrian Ealy on Outland Trophy watch list
NORMAN — OU offensive linemen Creed Humphrey and Adrian Ealy were named to the Outland Trophy watch list on Tuesday.
The Outland Trophy honors the top interior lineman in college football.
Humphrey, a redshirt junior, anchored one of college football's top offensive lines a year ago, earning second-team All-American honors. He was also one of three finalists for the Rimington Trophy, honoring the top center in college football, and was a Big 12 Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year. He started all 14 games and didn't allow a sack all season.
Ealy, also a redshirt junior, started 12 games at right tackle and was dominant for the most part when healthy.
The pair were two of six Big 12 players on the list.
Last year's winner, Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell, is also on the list.
The Sooners have had five winners of the award, the most recent Jammal Brown in 2004. Other OU winners include Greg Roberts in 1978, Lee Roy Selmon in 1975, J.D. Roberts in 1953 and Jim Weatherall in 1951.
