OU men’s golf: Norman North’s Jake Hopper commits to Sooners

Jake Hopper will stay in Norman when he transitions from high school to college.

The Norman North golfer announced Monday night on Twitter he has committed to OU.

Hopper is one of the state’s top golfers in the 2022 recruiting class.

Last month, he placed second in the boys division at the inaugural Oklahoma Junior Masters at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. Fellow OU commit Drew Goodman, who will be a senior next season at Christian Heritage Academy, won by three strokes.

One of Hopper’s biggest victories was last September at the Lake Hefner Shootout. He shot an 11-under 133 over 36 holes, winning by two strokes.
