OU baseball: Sooners gain commitment from Owasso grad David Sandlin

OU baseball coach Skip Johnson landed a commitment from pitcher David Sandlin, who announced the news Tuesday on Twitter.

Sandlin graduated from Owasso in 2019 and spent his freshman season at Eastern Oklahoma State College. He appeared in five games in the Mountaineers shortened season. He pitched 13 innings, allowed seven runs and struck out 16 batters.

As a senior at Owasso in 2019, Sandlin played in 11 games, posted a 1.18 ERA and had 58 strikeouts. The Rams finished the season 34-6 and lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

Sandlin is the Sooners' third commitment in the last week. The Sooners picked up 2022 prospect Zander Reese on July 8 and 2023 prospect Dakota Howard on July 10.
