Russell Westbrook tests positive for coronavirus
Rockets guard Russell Westbrook announced Monday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Westbrook has yet to join the Rockets inside the Disney World bubble.
"I tested positive for COVID-19 prior to my team's departure to Orlando," Westbrook tweeted. "I'm currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you for all the well wishes and continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up!"
The former Thunder star is averaging 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in his first season with the Rockets.
The Thunder is set to make its first playoff appearance without Westbrook on the roster. Oklahoma City and Houston are tied in the Western Conference standings.
