OU football: Four-star CB Latrell McCutchin commits to Sooners, kicking off big recruiting day
NORMAN — What could turn into a massive recruiting day for OU started off with a bang Saturday afternoon when four-star cornerback Latrell McCutchin announced his commitment to the Sooners.
McCutchin made his announcement on Twitter.
McCutchin (6-foot-1, 175 pounds), chose the Sooners over a group of offers that included Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Ohio State and Texas.
He was committed to Alabama for about nine months before decommitting in March shortly after a visit to Norman.
McCutchin, an Austin Lyndon B. Johnson product, is ranked as the No. 66 player in the 2021 class and the No. 6 cornerback according to Rivals.
McCutchin is the second highest-ranked of OU's 10 2021 commitments behind wide receiver Mario Williams, who's ranked No. 12.
The Sooners' recruiting day could get even bigger later this evening, with Caleb Williams, the top quarterback in the class and No. 3 overall player in the class according to Rivals, set to make his announcement around 8 p.m.
Williams is choosing from a group of finalists that also includes LSU and Maryland.
