Kim Kardashian West inks $200 million deal with Coty
Kim Kardashian West has inked a licensing deal with Coty Inc. for a 20 percent stake in her beauty company KKW Beauty.
The deal gives Kardashian West a $200 million paycheck and it will eventually move her into different categories of the business, including skincare initially then followed by personal care, hair care and nails. KKW Beauty’s focus had been on color cosmetics and fragrance.
“This deal is similar to the one that Coty did with Kylie. The only difference is that Coty is taking a smaller position in Kim’s investment vehicle,” Peter Harf, chief executive officer of Coty, told WWD.
Kardashian West will keep creative control of the company, now worth about $1 billion. It’s still considerably less than husband Kanye’s brand which is valued at $2.9 billion. He’s busy, too, having recently agreed to collaborate on a YEEZY line with Gap.
