Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young returns to court in Skinz League debut, scores 43 in loss
EDMOND — Atlanta Hawks and former OU guard Trae Young laced up and played in an organized basketball game for the first time since March 11 on Wednesday night.
Young, along with other former Sooners Ryan Spangler, Tyler Neal and Cade Davis, played at The Hive in the Skinz League, a local Pro-Am league.
Young was the only NBA player on the court Wednesday night, but Thunder rookie Darius Bazley played on Monday night. Thunder forward Terrance Ferguson was slated to play on Wednesday but tweeted he had to sit out because of team restrictions.
Young opened the game by attacking the basket and getting fouled, making both of his free throws.

The former Norman North star also showcased his 3-point shooting range, which is a trademark of his game. In his second season in the NBA, Young made 205 3-pointers, which ranks sixth in the NBA, on 36% shooting.
The game went to overtime after the opposing team hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with less than 15 seconds remaining. Young’s team lost, 89-88, as his potential game-winning shot was blocked at the buzzer.
He finished with 43 points on the night, including 4 3-pointers.
