Putnam City Schools announces 2020 Athletic Hall of Fame class
Putnam City Schools announced Tuesday the 2020 inductees for the Putnam City Athletic Hall of Fame.
The district had its inaugural Hall of Fame class last year.
This year’s banquet honoring inductees has been canceled until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here is the 2020 class.
Joe Aska: Football and track standout at UCO, where he is a member of its Athletic Hall of Fame. Aska played in 23 games for the Oakland Raiders from 1995-97.
Randy Helms: Coached Putnam City to three cross country state championships and is a member of the Oklahoma Track Coaches Hall of Fame.
Bob Hoffman: Starred in basketball at Putnam City and Oklahoma Baptist before becoming a successful college coach. He has coached at the Division-I level and is now at UCO.
Pat Ryan: Played quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers and in the NFL for 13 years.
Andrea Guziec: All-State selection in basketball and orchestra. Guziec played basketball at SMU and coached at Putnam North, Putnam West and Westmoore. Now, she is an assistant athletic director at Mustang.
Deji Karim: The former running back played at Southern Illinois and spent five seasons in the NFL.
Amy Lee: Won the school’s only girls golf state championship.
Bill Robertson: Coached basketball at Putnam City Schools for 34 years, including 23 at Putnam North. He is a member of the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
Ricky Brady: Was a tight end at OU and member of the basketball team. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him in 1994.
Scott Burger: Played quarterback at Putnam West and was inducted into the UCO Athletic Hall of Fame. He spent 29 seasons as an assistant coach at Putnam North.
Danielle Gant: Four-year starter for the Texas A&M basketball team. The Chicago Sky drafted her in the second round of the WNBA Draft.
Jeff Salazar: Played baseball at Oklahoma State before a four-year Major League Baseball career. He is the hitting coach for the Colorado Rockies.
