OSU baseball: Kaden Polcovich named to Collegiate Baseball's All-America team

STILLWATER — Kaden Polcovich played just 18 games for Oklahoma State, but that was enough to earn an All-American honor.

Polcovich, a junior infielder in his first season with the Cowboys, was named to Collegiate Baseball’s All-America Third Team on Tuesday.

Polcovich is a Deer Creek graduate who signed with Kentucky out of high school and later transferred to Northwest Florida State, where he played two seasons.

“It’s a new level of competition,” Polcovich said in March about coming to OSU. “I went from having 15 people at our game to having 4,000-5,000. That’s a transition. I always like playing in front of people. I feel like that’s when I play my best.”

Polcovich shined under the spotlight.

In 18 games with the Cowboys, he posted a .344 batting average, leading the team in four offensive categories with 21 RBIs, 19 walks, 20 runs and nine multi-hit games. He ranked eighth nationally in walks.

He also had a .578 slugging percentage and a .494 on-base percentage. He reached base in the season’s final 15 games.
