High school girls basketball recruiting: Texas Tech first to offer Jones' freshman guard Boston Berry

Boston Berry has received her first Division-I offer.

On Thursday afternoon, Jones' freshman point guard announced on Twitter she received an offer from Texas Tech.

This year, Berry averaged 6.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists as Jones girls basketball recorded its best season in school history.

“Her biggest strength is her ball handling and her ability to see the floor and the full court,” Jones coach Jenni Holbrook said. “She's a true point guard. Teams weren’t able to press us at all this year just because of her."

The 5-foot-7 guard helped lead Jones (26-1) to its first state tournament appearance and its first area championship.

Central Oklahoma, Tulsa and Louisiana Tech have also shown interest in Berry.
