High school girls basketball recruiting: Sooners offer Sapulpa freshman G Stailee Heard

Stailee Heard continues to receive national attention.

The 5-foot-9 Sapulpa freshman guard received an offer from Oklahoma, she announced on Twitter Wednesday night.

The Sooners are the latest Division-I school to offer Heard. She also has offers from Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Eastern Michigan.

This season, Heard averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game to help lead Sapulpa to a 23-4 record and the Class 6A state tournament.

She shot 53 percent, 78-of-147, from the field and 38 percent, 26-of-69, from behind the 3-point line.

“She’s a special player,” Sapulpa girls basketball coach Darlean Calip said. “As she gets older and more mature, she’s just going to get better. She’s an exceptional athlete.”

Along with basketball, Heard runs cross country and track. She placed third in the 2019 Class 6A cross country state meet.
