Ben Lawson, Bethany baseball: The shortstop and relief pitcher led Bethany to a 6-0 start before the season was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Lawson was on fire at the plate, finishing the shortened year with a .647 batting average, one home run and 10 RBIs. For his career, Lawson had a .359 batting average and 14 home runs. Lawson was more than a four-year starter on the baseball team. He also starred in football as a wide receiver, defensive back and punter. Lawson plans to play college baseball at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid. "Ben was a fierce competitor and will be missed very greatly for his leadership," Bethany baseball coach Jim Drummond said.
