OU women's basketball: Deer Creek's Skylar Vann signs with Sooners
NORMAN — Deer Creek standout Skylar Vann, whose father Bryatt played for OU, officially signed with the Sooners this week.
Vann, a 5-foot-10 guard, recently switched her commitment from Temple.
“I wanted to stay home in the first place,” Vann recently told The Oklahoman. “But I wasn’t really given the opportunity until last minute.”
Vann had 1,605 points and 1,062 rebounds during her Deer Creek career. As a senior, she averaged 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds to go along with 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.7 blocks.
She was named to The Oklahoman's Super 5 team.
"Skylar Vann produces," OU coach Sherri Coale said in a release. "She is a 'jack of all trades' player — an athlete who can and does contribute up and down a stat sheet. There's something integral about a player who produces night in and night out. We're excited about adding her competitive spirit and her potential to our roster."
Vann joins Heavenly Greer and Navaeh Tot as OU signees for the 2020 signing class.
