Rudy Gobert addresses reported rocky relationship with Donovan Mitchell
The night of March 11 in Oklahoma City created a rift between Jazz stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell that still needs to be reconciled, The Athletic reported.
Gobert addressed the story with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks.
"Everyone's got different relationships," Gobert said. "It's never perfect. People that are married — it's never perfect. Me and my teammates, it's far from perfect, but at the end of the day we both want the same thing and it's winning. We're both grown men and we're both going to do what it takes to win."
Gobert became the first NBA player to test positive for COVID-19. That positive test led to the suspension of the NBA season. Mitchell tested positive the next morning. There's no way of knowing which player first contracted the coronavirus.
According to The Athletic, Mitchell "remains reluctant to fix what might have been broken."
The Thunder was one game behind the Jazz in the West when the season was suspended. OKC and Utah were in line to face off in the first round of the playoffs.
