OU softball: ESPN2 to show rerun of 17 inning game as part of Women's History Month celebration
Missing OU softball — or any softball — right now?
ESPN2 will be showing the first game of the 2017 Women's College World Series championship series between OU and Florida — the 17 inning game.
The replay will air at 1 p.m. on Sunday on ESPN2 and is part of a day of programming dedicated to honoring women's sports.
Pat Summit's 1098th career win, UConn women's basketball's 111th straight win, and Mo'ne Davis' shutout game in the Little League World Series are among the other moments to be featured in the 16-hour block.
The Sooners won the 17-inning game 7-5 after almost five and a half hours of play, but the replay will only be two hours long, according to ESPN's schedule.
Then-sophomore first baseman Shay Knighten hit a three-run home run in the top of the 17th inning that would ultimately win the game for OU. OU went on to win the national championship the next night — its fourth title in program history.
