In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Carpenter Square Theatre is changing its spring show schedule.

The nonprofit community theater,  800 W Main, is moving its production of the comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City,” originally scheduled for April 3-25, to May 15-June 6.

"A Funny Thing Happened" will move into the slot originally planned for Mac Rogers' space-travel mystery called “Advance Man,” which has been canceled, according to Artistic Director Rhonda Clark.

As previously reported, Halley Feiffer’s comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City” centers on the relationship forged by two strangers when their cancer-stricken mothers become hospital roommates.

For the time being, the season is still slated to close with a new title from OKC favorite Ken Ludwig (“Leading Ladies,” “The Games Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays”), the farce “A Comedy of Tenors,” June 26-July 18.
