UPDATED at 2:20 p.m.: Cher has officially announced that she is rescheduling her tour, including Thursday night's OKC show. The post has been changed to reflect the new information. - BAM

Cher has announced the postponement of all concerts on the "Here We Go Again Tour" - including the Oklahoma City show planned for Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena, effective immediately.

"I'm heartbroken, but the health of my fans and my touring family comes first. The shows have been really special but, nothing is more important than everybody's safety. I’m excited to see everyone when we’re back out on the road,” Cher said in a statement Thursday.

The tour dates have been moved to September, with the OKC show rescheduled for Sept. 18, according to a news release.

Currently held tickets will be honored for the new date, and no action is needed if fans want to keep their tickets and current seat locations. Refunds can be received at the point of purchase, according to the release.

The Grammy, Oscar and Emmy winner will be unable to reschedule her planned March 18 Birmingham, Alabama, date scheduled for Wednesday due to impending renovations at the venue.

As previously reported, Cher posted on Twitter Wednesday night that she couldn't "in good conscience" play her Thursday tour stop at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena.

As The Oklahoman's OKC Thunder beat writer Maddie Lee reports, the Thunder's home game against the Jazz tonight at The Peake was halted just before tip-off and then postponed, with the public address announcer citing "unforeseen circumstances."

About an hour later, the NBA announced that a Utah Jazz player had preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by a novel coronavirus. The NBA season has been suspended until further notice.

Chesapeake Arena officials posted on social media Thursday that "Tonight's concert with Cher will not be happening as scheduled. We appreciate your patience and will be releasing more information as we can."

As previously reported, the entertainment icon announced in November she was extending her successful "Here We Go Again Tour" with additional 2020 dates, including Thursday's planned OKC show.

The postponement comes as concerns grow over the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus that the World Health Organization Wednesday designated a global pandemic.

As previously reported, Michael Buble also has postponed several of his planned spring concerts, including his planned April 3 show at The Peake. Also as previously reported, Pearl Jam announced earlier this week that it was postponing the first leg of its North American trek, including its April 6 concert at the OKC arena.
