Thunder: Jazz come to town as possible playoff opponent

The Thunder will host the Jazz on Wednesday night in what could be a possible first-round playoff matchup. Utah is currently in fourth place, and Oklahoma City is a game behind in fifth place.

But with 18 games remaining in the regular season and just 2 1/2 games separating fourth place from seventh place in the Western Conference, it’s still too soon to project playoff pairings.

“Of course we know that it is a very important game for the season,” Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari said, “but we still have to play a lot of games.”

The Thunder and Jazz split the first two games of the regular season series, both of which were played in Salt Lake City. The Thunder will host the Jazz twice in the next four weeks.

“Stuff changes every day,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. “I’ve always believed that you’re better off putting your time, and your energy, and your focus on things that you have control over.”
