PANHELLENIC TEA
Spring tea: Senior High School girls interested in joining a college sorority met with members of The Greater Oklahoma City Alumnae Panhellenic Association at the Greens Country Club. They and their parents attended a spring tea and met Panhellenic delegates from sororities and other representatives from state universities.
Program on recruitment: Kelli Hayward Walsh was emcee and also on the program was Claudia Robertson, president, and Terry Johnston and Shannon Custard, event chairmen. The women answered questions about sorority recruitment at the various colleges.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADEEBA
Celebration: Adeeba Samara celebrated her 102nd birthday with 50 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The event was in her home and pizza was served. With the youngest great-great granddaughter in one group of family members, there were five generations of women at the event, including Adeeba Samara, Nadia Shadid, Saundra Farha, Jennifer Homsey, and the youngest addition, Sarah Marie Homsey, spanning 7 months to 102 years.
BOOT SCOOTIN’ PARTY
Party: The 12th annual Boots & Ball Gowns Gala featured a “On the Ranch at Sunset” theme and guests danced to music by the Georgia Bridgewater Orchestra. They wore cocktail attire and cowboy hats and boots. More than $640,000 was raised by Infant Crisis Services. Dinner was catered by Abbey Road catering and flowers were by Trochta’s. Becky Taylor and Emmi Kobs were co-chairman. Miki Farris is ICS executive director.
WARHOL AND THE WEST
Occasion: A party featuring the Warhol and the West exhibit at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum was held recently. The event featured a Studio 54 nightclub scene. Chairmen were Valerie Naifeh, Brad Simons, John Cresan and Veronica and Steve Sullivan. Guests had cocktails, dinner and a DJ. There were Warhol inspired backdrops and decor by The Fleuriste.

Reception: Joy Reed Belt was hostess for the First Friday event at JRB Art at the Elms. D.J. Lavon’s artwork was the featured exhibit. Among the gallery guests were Mary Ellen Gumerson, Bill Gumerson, Judith Coyle, Kent Frates, Helen Dailey, Pat Dailey, Jim Keffer, Annabel Givens, Kent Johnson, Janie Dupree, Dorothy Woolbright, Larry Pickering, Liz Ragsdale, Anna Reed and Quincey Reed.
