OU softball: Lynnsie Elam named Big 12 Player of Week

NORMAN — Lynnsie Elam is the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Elam received the honor on Tuesday after a strong performance at the plate over the weekend. Elam had seven hits in the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Arizona, including four home runs.

The junior catcher has a .346 batting average so far this season and has already matched her home run total for last season with five blasts.

Elam and the Sooners will head to California for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic this weekend.
